Our USA Adventure – The Natchez Trace to Slidell, LA

Leaving the busy area of Nashville for several days of driving down the Natchez Trace was like walking out of a big party into the quiet forest nearby! The Trace runs from the “Terminus” at Mile 444 just below Nashville (near Franklin) all the way to the Origin, Mile 0, at Natchez, MS. We did the whole thing!! Along the way, we spent a night at Tishomingo State Park, Tishomingo, MS; next 2 nights at The Natchez Trace RV Park, Tupelo, MS (the Birthplace of Elvis); then on to Springridge RV Park, Clinton, MS; and our last night at Riverview RV Park, Vidalia, LA, right on the Mississippi River! We wish we had had more time for this last stop as it was truly beautiful with iconic views of the Mississippi River and the tugs and barges coming and going there! The Trace is not just beautiful, it is also rich in history. We can honesstly say we stopped at more “Historical Markers” than we thought possible. We are anxious to come back and spend more time on the Trace at some future time. It is amazing!

So, the lead photo is of two of our 4 (soon to be 5!!) Great Grans, Josie and River at a Portland Timbers Soccer Game – their first time at a Soccer match! I think they might be having a good time?? Oh, you’ll also see their Dad, Cameron, holding his first Chinook Salmon! Yay, Cam!!!

Those who know us may remember our sailboat, a 26′ MacGregor named “Close To You”, and therefore…Read More
